Steve is a Professor of Practice for Leadership at Hult International Business School (Ashridge) and the owner/director of Photo-Dialogue Ltd.

He has more than 20 years experience in organisational consulting, facilitation, supervision and coaching in the public, private and third sectors. His current work and research is informed by art and creative practice, imagery, dialogue, and inquiry based approaches to change and innovation.

His experience includes a first career as a London-based freelance fashion, advertising and editorial photographer before being commissioned into the RAF to serve more than 20 years as a fast-jet pilot. He founded Photo-Dialogue, an independent consultancy working with imagery, vision, dialogue and change, before joining Hult (Ashridge) where he supervises candidates on the Executive Doctorate in Organisational Change and works with corporate clients undertaking organisational transformation.

Steve's client list includes global corporations, government institutions and third sector organisations. He works across diverse sectors including telecoms, health, oil, academia, law, and defence.

Shamir is a Design Thinking Trainer, Facilitator & Keynote Speaker who coaches individuals and organizations in design thinking skills by leveraging experiential learning. As a trainer, he is a teaching lead at IDEO U, which is IDEO's online learning platform. As a facilitator, he designs workshops and training sessions for corporate clients and universities in India & Spain. As a keynote speaker, he speaks at International Design Thinking conferences and also for corporate speaking engagements and as a guest speaker at universities.

Shamir believes that creativity is just like any muscle and it needs to be exercised regularly. He advocates for playful design with a purpose. He likes to call it being Playful with Purpose. He designs activities, workshops & experiences that leverage play to teach Design Thinking mindsets that are crucial for innovation.

Shamir believes that Design Thinking is a mindset and not a tool that is specific to any industry and so he is passionate about applying these mindsets to diverse use cases.

Shamir is an Advisory Board member for a Peruvian startup, Puki, to democratize access to refrigerated food for low-income families by providing a low-cost, modular, designed refrigerator that runs without electricity.

Shamir's background is as a Mechanical engineer. In his first startup, he worked on prototyping, testing and iterating an electric 2-wheeler design concept for use as a Bike taxi under UberMOTO. He has also worked on the design and fabrication of a formula 1 styled race car. His work experience includes designing innovative commercial and residential furniture for a design studio, fulfilling specific client design needs that arose from user research and interviews.
