My Journey with Woolf: From Online Diploma to Real-World Impact in Tech
My name is Dominion Yusuf, and I’m from Nigeria. I never imagined that an online program could open so many doors, but enrolling at Woolf gave structure and momentum to the goals I had been aspiring to for years.
When I started my Higher Diploma in Computer Science, I was looking for something flexible, but also serious, something that could lead to real, global opportunities. Woolf offered exactly that. The fully online format meant I could continue learning without putting my life on pause. And knowing the certificate was internationally accredited gave me peace of mind that my qualification would be recognized beyond my home country.
What surprised me most about Woolf was the people. Even though we were scattered across time zones, I never felt alone. We built a genuine community, and many of those connections still last today. We were supported by world-class tutors and mentors I may never have had access to otherwise. I even met one of my mentors in person recently, someone who had guided me from miles away. It was a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.
During the program, I landed an internship in my dream field, and two years later, I’m still working at the same company. That experience gave me far more than a line on my CV. It helped me build real-world skills, solve meaningful problems, and grow both technically and personally. I could feel myself stepping into the next version of who I wanted to become.
One of the most memorable moments from my time at Woolf was a hackathon where we built a mobile app MVP from scratch in under three days. It was intense, chaotic, and absolutely worth it. We brainstormed, designed, developed, and refined the app and we won “Best Hack for Social Impact.” That experience showed me what’s possible when you push past your limits.
Now, I’m continuing my studies in Software Engineering at the African Leadership University in Kigali, Rwanda. My goals are evolving, but one thing hasn’t changed: my mindset. Woolf taught me how to learn and more importantly, how to own my growth.
If you’re looking for flexibility, global credibility, and an education that prepares you for the real world, I’d say take the step. Join Woolf.
As for what comes next? I’m following God’s lead, one step at a time.
